Analog Roll Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 30, 2026
Analog Roll ("the app", "we") is a camera app that simulates rolls of photographic film. This policy explains what data is handled, how, and why.
1. The essentials: the camera is local
Analog Roll's core function — loading a roll, shooting, and developing your photos — runs entirely on your phone. It doesn't require an account, doesn't upload anything to any server, and doesn't need an internet connection. Your rolls and developed photos are stored only in your device's local storage.
2. Data we collect (only if you enable the optional social features)
Analog Roll includes an optional social feature: connecting an account to add friends and publish already-developed photos for 24 hours. If you choose to use it, we collect:
- Email and password, to create your account (handled by Supabase Auth; we never see your password in plain text).
- Your friend code, a random string that identifies your account so other users can add you — it doesn't contain your real name or email.
- Friends list: which other accounts you've connected with.
- Photos you explicitly publish: only the ones you choose to share from an already-developed roll. They're uploaded to our cloud storage (Supabase, EU-based infrastructure) only while visible to your friends.
- Post metadata: which film look you used and your device model (e.g. "iPhone 15"), shown alongside the published photo.
- Likes you leave on friends' photos.
Photos you don't publish never leave your phone.
3. How long we keep data
- Published photos are automatically deleted from our servers 24 hours after publishing.
- Account data (email, friend code, friends list) is kept as long as the account exists.
- You can request full deletion of your account and associated data by writing to josse.rawfotos@gmail.com. We'll delete it within a reasonable timeframe.
4. Who we share data with
We don't sell or share your data with third parties for advertising purposes. We use Supabase as our infrastructure provider (database, authentication, and storage) — they act as a data processor under our instructions, not as an independent data controller.
Analog Roll doesn't integrate any third-party advertising or analytics SDK, and doesn't track your activity across other apps or websites.
5. Device permissions
- Camera: needed to shoot photos. Access is local; images aren't sent anywhere unless you explicitly publish an already-developed photo.
- Notifications: used to let you know when a roll finishes developing, and for optional daily reminders. You can turn these off anytime from your system settings.
- Photo library: used only when you choose to save a photo (yours or a friend's) to your system photo library.
6. Children
Analog Roll isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.
7. Changes to this policy
If we make a material update to this policy, we'll note it in the app or on this page along with the new version's date.
